Kaumātua & Tangata Whaikaha Programme

Support for Kaumātua and Tangata Whaikaha in living their best lives.

Kaumātua & Tangata Whaikaha Programme

The Kaumātua and Tangata Whaikaha Programme’s central focus is to empower, enrich, and enhance the wellbeing of Kaumātua (Elderly) and Tangata Whaikaha (individuals with disabilities), through the provision and delivery of learning opportunities, support, activities and access to services and resource support.

The programme promotes Te Whare Tapa Wha model (Māori Health) on strengthening and nurturing all four domains of Hauora (Wellbeing).

The above dimensions are at the centre of one’s wellbeing, inseparable connection of mind and body, expressing thoughts and feelings.

Restoring mana and ora

Restoring mana (spiritual power) and ora (wellbeing) to whānau facilitates physical and emotional healing and forms an integral part of whānau oranga. (health)
